Lets Celebrate Black History Month
Black History Month is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of African-Americans. The month lasts for only 28 days but is full of nationally recognized events, celebrations, and education. This month is an opportunity for students to learn about the struggles of the past while also celebrating how far we have come in American society today. It’s so important to celebrate our history because it helped us get to where we are today. We need to remember that there were many obstacles before we got here. There was slavery, segregation, lynching, Jim Crow laws, etc., but now we live in a country where everyone can be treated equally regardless of their race or gender.
Lets Reflect on Black History
We get a chance to reflect on the role that African Americans have played in American history. One of the most prominent contributions Black Americans have made is challenging preconceived notions and stereotypes about blackness. We have pushed boundaries and experimented with different ways of expressing ourselves, through the contributions black people have made to this country. Our contributions extend beyond the Civil Rights Movement and into modern day society. Black entrepreneurs have left their mark on society with innovative ideas, new products, and businesses that have transformed the way we live. More and more Black entrepreneurs are succeeding in the business world, and Black History Month is a great time to recognize their accomplishments. Black people have been running businesses for centuries, but sadly we’re still not represented as much as other ethnic groups when it comes to entrepreneurship.
